This is a follow up to our previous post on Concord Township’s Budget:
There was some “feedback” from Andy Rose, Concord Township’s administrator. Andy got his ‘knickers in a bunch’ because of a statement we made, and asked if we could meet to discuss the article. Here is the statement that was at issue:
“With two new fire stations and a $100 million new school for Riverside being considered, Concord is truly pricing seniors out of their homes……”
Andy was irate because we lumped the township in with the school and they are completely separate entities. Andy reminded us that the lawsuit between Riverside school and Concord Township was settled two weeks prior to Andy assuming his Administrator role; he was handed the agreement that he had to follow when he took the job.
As a side note, Andy stated that the lawsuit cost the taxpayers $100,000 in legal fees because the taxpayers footed the bill for both sides…..good grief… a double whammy for the taxpayers…..”Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe”….
Ok, here is our mea culpa…..let’s correct our statement shall we:
“With two new fire stations and a $100 million new school for Riverside being considered, Concord AND Riverside schools are truly pricing seniors out of their homes….”
We have no doubt that Andy is looking out for the best interests of Concord residents, and he has been very honest and transparent with LFC.
It will be up to the residents to vote on the soon to be proposed expansion of the Fire Department. We are expecting this to be a November ballot issue, but it has not been approved by the Trustees yet.
We will be staying on top of this issue and reporting on it…..
