We wanted to share some statistics with you comparing the Covid-19 deaths per 100,000 versus the deaths from unintentional injury.
From the Center for Disease Control’s website here are the statistics for unintentional injury deaths:
We are told that for the year 2016:
All unintentional injury deaths
- Number of deaths: 169,936
- Deaths per 100,000 population: 52.2
- Cause of death rank: 3
Here is a link to the Covid19 statistics by state:
New York State is the only State that exceeds the unintentional death rate per 100,000 with their 60 deaths per 100,000.
Ohio has reported 3 deaths per 100,000.
Undoubtedly, the density of the population in New York, and the drastic measures initially taken in Ohio probably have impacted the number of deaths per 100,000.
However, it is now time to get people back to work before the cure is worse than the illness.
What this chapter in our history has shown us is how quickly those in power are willing to usurp the constitutional rights of the average citizen, and, unfortunately, how far too many citizens willingly give up their rights for safety and security.
