Lake County Commissioners, State Reps, and Senators…What are you doing for us?…

Open letter to our elected and Republican officials:

Commissioner Jerry Cirino (State Senator Elect)
Commissioner Ron Young
Commissioner John Hamercheck
Commissioner Elect Jason Wuliger
Auditor Chris Galloway
State Representative Jamie Callender
State Senator John Ecklund

During the recent election cycle, the Lake County citizens were inundated with literature about all the wonderful things that our elected officials were going to do for the County and the citizens. Vote for me they all said – I can solve your problems! Since there was a virtual sweep by Republicans at the ballot box, citizens on both sides of the aisle are now expecting you to keep your promises.

Commissioner Cirino was touting his business acumen, and his ability to bring new businesses into the Counties that he will represent as State Senator. Well, Commissioner, how about saving the small businesses that are being plundered by Governor DeWine?

Let us remind all of you that “Now is the time for all elected officials to come to the aid of their citizens”!

Governor DeWine is destroying the economy of Lake County, Northeast Ohio, and the entire State of Ohio. In addition, there will be an increasing human toll in the form of suicides, drug addiction, alcoholism, and domestic abuse, that will far exceed the impact of the Covid-19 virus. DeWine’s obsession with mask mandates and lockdowns is not justified by the empirical worldwide data.

We are asking that all of you do your job to protect the citizens and the businesses of Lake County, by telling Governor DeWine that you do not support his decisions on mask mandates and lockdowns. Please do not give us the excuse that there is only so much that you can do because of the Ohio Revised Code restrictions.

Citizens of Lake County want to know if we can count on your support, or will you cave to the Republicans at the State level for fear of retribution?
