Republicanism Not Republicans

Republicanism Not Republicans

Republicanism is not the same as or even truly represented by Republicans. Based on what has and is occurring in the Republican Party, especially in Ohio and several other swing states, the truth, fact and understanding of republicanism is nonexistent.

The Constitution of these United States is for a republic operating within the context of republicanism. Although the ‘rule of law’ is a key component of republicanism it has been sadly ‘perverted’ as Bastiat observed in the opening in his tresties, ‘The Law’:

‘The law perverted! The law—and, in its wake, all the collective forces of the nation—the law, I say, not only diverted from its proper direction, but made to pursue one entirely contrary! The law become the tool of every kind of avarice, instead of being its check! The law guilty of that very iniquity which it was its mission to punish! Truly, this is a serious fact, if it exists, and one to which I feel bound to call the attention of my fellow citizens.’

Therefore, we see the left, the American Marxists, take over the bureaucracies, political parties and even elected offices by using ‘The Law.’ Thereby perverting the republicanism of our founding.

Republicanism Is Not the Republican Party

Foundationally, republicanism is simply the populist rule of law and has nothing to do with party. In fact, the modern Republican Party are the foreshadowed aristocratical tyrants that the Founding era saw if true Republicanism was corrupted.

We see that the republican party at all levels, especially in Ohio, do not act as if Constitutionalism or Republicanism even matters. Power and positioning is at the front of who they endorse and spend money on. There is little to no respect for the Citizenry but this was predicted by those that wrote with concern at the Founding – ‘can the republic be maintained?’

Comments on Commentaries and Pundits

That which is happening around us is not giving foundational grounding, truth or understanding. Since the educational system has destroyed critical thinking and Founders Intent for self-governance, the gap is filled with emotionalism, psycho-babble and the manipulators of emotions and language.

Those who fill the data bits of social and digital media, as well as the blaring pundits, are masters of emotional manipulation. Critical thinking and foundational reasoning have left the planet in these United States. So as to let you know we will have to rebuild our Constitutional Republic I will leave you with these embedded quotes and References but that does not mean that you are exempted from digging into the references at the end of this program introduction for tomorrows program.

References on how your emotions are manipulated:

  1. “The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use them.” – Philip K. Dick – Taken from 30 Manipulation Quotes
  2. “Fear is a primal emotion that has the power to rob us of our ability to think rationally.” and
  3. “Emotional manipulation methodically wears down your self-worth and self-confidence, and damages your trust in your own perceptions. It can make you unwittingly compromise your personal values, which leads to a loss of self-respect and a warped self concept. With your defenses weakened or completely disarmed in this manner, you are left even more vulnerable to further manipulation. ” – #2 & #3 from 30 Covert Emotional Manipulation Tactics Quotes

References on true reconstruction of the Republic

  1. ‘To point out the obvious, the old America is currently being dismantled. That means that somebody is going to rebuild it, someone is going to reconstruct it. We are all reconstructionists now. The basic choice lies before us, and it is pretty stark. Will that reconstruction be conducted by the totalitarians who tore the old one down?

Or will it be done by Christians who think like Christians should?’

  2. Reconstruction of the Republic requires understanding the Founders Design. I use these volumes all of the time since it is the BEST compilation of various Founders defining how the Constitution and Republic should function. Purchase your five volumes of ‘The Founders Constitution’ and study it online as well.

Not to be Long Winded Today

So as not to be long winded today as I could go on with many pages regarding Republicanism Not Republican in respect to party politics. I do liken both political parties in these United States to a description found in Gordon’s second paragraph quoted here.

I will hope you delve into the References and I leave you with two letters: first, an excerpt from Thomas Gordon, Cato’s Letters, no. 38 and then from a letter – Sam Adams to Noah Webster:

Gordon writes – 22 July 1721 Jacobson 93–95, 96, 99–101

The Right and Capacity of the People to judge of Government.,

‘The World has, from Time to Time, been led into such a long Maze of Mistakes, by those who gained by deceiving, that whoever would instruct Mankind, must begin with removeing their Errors; and if they were every where honestly apprized of Truth, and restored to their Senses, there would not remain one Nation of Bigots or Slaves under the Sun: A Happiness always to be wished, but never expected!

In most Parts of the Earth there is neither Light nor Liberty; and even in the best Parts of it they are but little encouraged, and coldly maintained; there being, in all Places, many engaged, through Interest, in a perpetual Conspiracy against them. They are the two greatest Civil Blessings, inseparable in their Interests, and the mutual Support of each other; and whoever would destroy one of them, must destroy both. Hence it is, that we every where find Tyranny and Imposture, Ignorance and Slavery, joined together; and Oppressors and Deceivers mutually aiding and paying constant Court to each other. Whereever Truth is dangerous, Liberty is precarious…

…These are the poor Parts which great and good Governors scorn to play, and cannot play; their Designs, like their Stations, being purely publick, are open and undisguised. They do not consider their People as their Prey, nor lie in Ambush for their Subjects; nor dread, and treat and surprize them like Enemies, as all ill Magistrates do; who are not Governors, but Jaylors and Spunges, who chain them and squeeze them, and yet take it very ill if they do but murmur; which is yet much less than a People so abused ought to do. There have been Times and Countries, when publick Ministers and publick Enemies have been the same individual Men. What a melancholy Reflection is this, that the most terrible and mischievous Foes to a Nation should be its own Magistrates! And yet in every enslaved Country, which is almost every Country, this is their woful Case.

. . . . .

But some have said, It is not the Business of private Men to meddle with Government. A bold, false, and dishonest Saying; and whoever says it, either knows not what he says, or cares not, or slavishly speaks the Sense of others. It is a Cant now almost forgot in England, and which never prevailed but when Liberty and the Constitution were attacked, and never can prevail but upon the like Occasion.
