It pains me to write this, but the truth must prevail. Lake County’s Treasurer Mike Zuren has become a self-promoting politician. His recent actions speak very clearly that he is more interested in currying favors with Lake County’s Kool Kids Klub rather than addressing the problems of the citizens in the community.
Zuren recently made an short, ill-fated run for State Treasurer. He also made the Republican Party aware that he wanted to be considered for the County Commissioner seat made available by the death of Rich Regovich. This was done while he was still running for State Treasurer.
So he is letting the power brokers know that he wants higher office, and will do anything they ask to ensure their future support. That is how politics works. You have to be on the right side of the power brokers and do their bidding.
Treasurer Zuren’s latest foray into educating the citizens is a speaking tour on the issue of property taxes. Here is an example of the crowds that the name Zuren brings to an event.
We will keep you posted on any future office that Zuren in contemplating. Obviously, he believes that the County Treasurer’s position is merely a stepping stone for him.
Perhaps a chicken little suit is now appropriate for Zuren?
