Sheriff Leonbruno…does he have our back?

We have been trying to determine for some time if Lake County Sheriff Frank Leonbruno is a Constitutional Sheriff or not.

Prior to his appointment as Sheriff, (they pulled the old “let’s get our guy in the office without a vote of the people trick”) we asked him directly to answer the question if given the order by the Ohio Governor to pick up our guns, in violation of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, would he follow the order given. He would not answer the question!

We recently sent him another email a couple of weeks ago.

We have been reading and watching videos about the Texas citizen that was arrested, jailed and fined for opening up her beauty salon.

Can you please tell us what the Lake County Sheriff’s Department would do if a Lake County taxpayer opened up her beauty salon in opposition to the unconstitutional edicts by Governor DeWine and Dr. Amy Acton?

We received no answer from the Sheriff. so we gave him the benefit of doubt, and sent this follow-up email:

Would you please answer our previous quotation, or has a “gag order” been given to you also by County officials?

Here is Sheriff Leonbruno’s response:

Great news. Beauty parlors in Ohio opened for business on Friday. Hence your question is moot.

However, so it is clear, as Sheriff I did take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Ohio. I will uphold that oath.

We must say that it is a rather flippant response from a government official elected by the citizens to a VERY important County position. That position is supposed to be the citizens’ last line of defense from authoritarian rulers.

We heard Sheriff Leonbruno speak at a Republican Central Committee meeting. He was asked a similar question from the audience, and his response was: “I will follow the law.” It was greeted with a thunderous applause from the audience. Our response was: “Isn’t that a given, something that is expected by all citizens?” However, we saw the politician emerge in Leonbruno.

We have to tell our readers that we are very concerned about Sheriff Leonbruno. Will he “have our back” when the chips are down? To date, he has not instilled confidence in LFC with his vague and nebulous answers. Governor DeWine swore an oath to defend the U.S. and State of Ohio Constitution, but has violated that oath. So why should we trust Leonbruno just because he said that he swore an oath? Would he violate that oath like DeWine to ensure our “safety and security”?

If you think that your 1st and 2nd amendment rights are not under attack, then you have not been paying attention.

We need a Sheriff that is 100% on the side of the citizens, and not one that is rather cavalier about the rights of citizens. We will let you decide if Sheriff Leonbruno is the man for that job. Please remember what is at stake, your freedom depends on it.
