We have uncovered a very disturbing fact that we want all Lake County residents to know about. Did you know that the Lake County Board of Elections has a readily accessible voter lookup database?

This tool gives a plethora of information about registered voters including your home address. Check it out….input your name, while you are at it, input Frank Leonbruno (Sheriff) and Chuck Coulson (Prosecutor) and see what is listed for their address. [Hint: “Address on File”]

Not all registered voters’ addresses are listed since the Ohio Revised Code section 149.45 (D) (1) gives certain protected government jobs rights that are not available to the average citizen. Here is the “Request to Redact Address” form that is available to these protected classes:

It is very easy for anyone to create lists of voters based on name, address, party affiliation, voting history, etc. from the B.O.E. database.

We have no problem with protecting citizens that may be subject to threats or assaults as part of their governmental duties. However, we believe that ALL citizens should have the right to have their home addresses redacted if they so choose.

Why do we think that request is appropriate?

It is reminiscent of darker times in fascist and communist governments. As Americans we are guaranteed the rights to freedom of speech and religion in the First Amendment. We as Americans have the fundamental right to believe as we wish to believe and not fear reprisal. This is a direct attack on the foundation of our democracy. For those Lake County citizens that are concerned about retribution from the Democrat leftists for being a President Trump supporter, we suggest that you contact the Lake County Board of Elections and DEMAND that your address be redacted.

If Sheriff Leonbruno, Prosecutor Coulson, and all of the others in protected classes have availed themselves of this protection, then it is only right and fair that ALL CITIZENS have the same courtesy.
