Port Authority’s new motto: “Do as I say not as I do”

When thinking about the Port Authority expressing the need to get more people to move into Lake County because the population is aging and we need more workers, we cannot but shake our heads and wonder if they realize the optics of their situation.

To make our point, consider these facts:
Mark Rantala, Executive Director, lives in Rocky River, Ohio.

Peter Zahirsky, Coastal Manager, lives in Cuyahoga, County.

Patty Fulop, Airport Manager and Rantala’s assistant, lives in Geauga County.

We have not checked their Board of Trustees’ home location, but we would hope that they and the Lake County Commissioners consider that 3 Port employees (although Zahirsky is paid, illegally in our opinion, by the Visitors’ Bureau), who are supposed to be promoting Lake County, do not even have the common sense to live in the County in which the earn a good living.

“Do as I say, not as I do”……that’s the ticket!…..They may want to change the Port’s motto.

head in the sand image     Note to the Port’s Board of Trustees – WAKE UP!   You will be saddled with the ‘Better Flip’ disaster also.  More to follow, we promise…..double the budget of $150,000 is unacceptable…..
