We received the following flyer from a relative in California. Notice that Jordan Marks is the Assessor / Recorder / County Clerk for San Diego. Hmmm…is consolidation of local government positions on the horizon for Lake County? How about combining the Auditor and Treasurer’s office while we are at it?
Even the ultra liberal State of California recognizes the importance of private property (forget that they did not have enough water in the fire hydrants to protect the homes in Palisades) ownership.
“Proposition 13 was passed by the voters to protect property owners from being taxed out of their homes.”
Let’s be honest, using property taxes as a means to fund and ever-growing government is a terrible idea.
Any tax causing a citizen to become homeless is immoral.
