Lake County Council on Aging seeking volunteers

Metro Creative Connection

The Lake County Council on Aging is seeking volunteers in all program areas — “Meals on Wheels,” nutrition site kitchens, Friendly Visitors, Grocery Shoppers and office/reception support.

A number of programs have immediate urgent needs and others will have need as the fall season arrives, according to a news release.

Volunteers are needed who can deliver nutritious meals to seniors in Eastlake, Wickliffe, Painesville, Madison and Mentor. Those interested are asked to dedicate at least one day per week or every other week from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Every weekday three of nutrition sites also provide a lunchtime meal in Wickliffe, Eastlake and Madison and extra help in the kitchen is needed for about three hours beginning at 8 a.m.

The Council on Aging is also experiencing an increase in the need for Friendly Visitors and Grocery Shoppers for homebound seniors. Volunteers would be asked to help for hour or two every week or every other week.

Call Linda Llewellyn at the Council on Aging at 440-205-8111, ext. 228, or email Llewellyn@lccoa.org for more information.

  1. I thought RSVP was a volunteer organization — so why don’t they volunteer their time to the Lake County Council on Aging. Does this seem too practical??????????
