A special thank-you to Sarah Fowler, our very capable representative to the Ohio State Board of Education, for hosting an eye-opening event in Austinburg last night.
The presenters were conservative, Christian patriots from the group known as “Ohio Value Voters”. Established in 2007, their mission is to educate, inform, and influence voters and elected officials in Ohio about protecting Ohio’s children from the dissemination of obscenity to children. They partner with the “Protect Child Health Coalition”, and other groups to stop “Comprehensive Sex Education” (CSE) in Ohio’s school. Here is their flyer: Ohio Value Voters – PCHC flyer
Did you know that sexual education is mandated in the State of Ohio? Here is an overview of Ohio’s sex education legislation and guidelines.
Ohio Sex Ed Legislation & Guidelines
There are currently two approaches to sex education in Ohio’s public schools: (1) Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA), and (2) Sexual Risk Reduction Education (SRR). The groups meeting the the Ohio legislation’s mandates teach the SRA curriculum, while those teaching the SRR curriculum do not.
There are two diametrically opposed groups that teach the different curriculum. “Relationships Under Construction” (RUC) and the “Ohio Adolescent Health Centers (OAHC) teach the SRA program while “Planned Parenthood” and “Family Planning” groups teach the SRR program. Here is a flyer that outlines the stark differences in each curriculum. Differences between SRA and SRR
The RUC group provides sex education for students in grades 6 – 12, and their mission is “teaching youth the blueprint for strong future families”. RUC mission
Let’s examine the “Comprehensive Sex Education” (CSE) promoted by the groups teaching the SRR program. Caution: this is where it gets a bit uncomfortable, and is definitely outside the three R’s!
Here are the 15 harmful effects on children under the CSE program:
15 Harmful Effects of CSE
RUC has developed a very detailed analysis tool that addresses all fifteen harmful effects of CSE on the children. SRR Detailed Analysis Tool
We were told that Lake and Geauga schools do use the SRA program of sex education in the public schools. There was no mention which program was taught in private schools. They have done some research in the Cuyahoga County public schools and did provide us with the following evidence: CSE in Cuyahoga County
Here is some evidence of CSE in Southern Ohio: CSE in Southern Ohio
For those parents that want to be proactive and inquire what is being taught in their local schools, here is a handy reference guide for you to follow:

(LFC Comments: We object to the State trying to take control of our children. We strongly support Ohio Value Voters and their network of groups promoting the SRA education.
Quite frankly, we believe that if we destroy the family, babies and morality a society will collapse. Don’t look now, but it is happening to us at an ever increasing pace.
As we continue to learn about what is happening in public schools, the ever increasing property taxes to fund them, and their overall terrible achievement grades; we cannot help but conclude that there has to be a paradigm shift in public education.
Since we have been told that the Ohio school teachers’ union is the strongest, most well-funded lobbying group, these needed changes are going to be a very “heavy lift”. It is ironic that it is the taxpayers’ own property tax money that is being used against them.
