According to Concord Bob it looks like Governor DeWine will appoint someone to replace the retired Municipal Court Judge Michael Cicconetti . The 68 year old judge has been the Painesville Municipal Court Judge since January, 1994. It had been assumed that there was not enough time to appoint a replacement. That is why we like the word “assume”, because when you break it down, it really says that it makes an “ass” out of “u and me”.
By the way, we would like to thank Judge Cicconetti for his many years of faithful service on the bench. He certainly has made a difference in this world.
We have been told that on October 1, 2019, James Robert O’Leary will become the new Painesville Municipal Court Judge. He is currently a member of the Painesville law firm, Baker and Hackenberg.
Why is the appointment important? Assuming he has enough time to register for the November 5th election, Mr. O’Leary can then mount a challenge to Mr. Paul Malchesky to replace Mr. Cicconetti. Mr. O’Leary then can ask for the voters to re-elect him since he is the “incumbent”.
It will be interesting to see who the Republican Commissioner, Jerry Cirino, will support for judge, since he supported the Democrat, Mr. Malchesky, for the Concord Township Trustee.
We will be watching to see how the current Lake County Auditor, and highly successful political consultant, Mr. Chris Galloway, impacts this race. Remember, Galloway, a Republican, worked with Malchesky as Trustees for Concord Township. We are going to have to dust off ‘Holmes and Watson’ if we see more backscratching going on in Lake County.
The ‘Deep State’ does not only apply to Washington, D.C.
