Wickliffe’s Family Resource Center…”we are way past the 3 R’s”

We have long held the belief that if we destroy the family, babies and morality a society will collapse.  You may want to close your eyes and deny reality, but this is what we are experiencing in our world today.  We are not only in a cultural war, but a spiritual one as well .  Here is a Lake County example of what is happening in education to meet the decline of the family.

Take a look at what Wickliffe School District is doing to reverse an alarming trend in their community – creating a Family Resource Center.

From Wickliffe School’s website they show how schools are expanding services to assume the rolls previously done within the family.

“The key to a successful community is having strong, healthy families that have the opportunity to provide their children with a great educational environment and well-founded public services. It is with this in mind that the Wickliffe City School District has developed a goal of creating a Family Resource Center to address the needs of our students, their families and the entire community.”

3 Vital Areas of Success

“There are three areas vital to the success of young people and the community:

(1) educational intervention and enrichment services,
(2) health care services, and
(3) social and counseling services.

We also endeavor to assist our community members who are in need of basic nutritional programming. This center will provide an accessible and convenient point of contact that provides solutions and interventions to improve the academic, social, economic, behavioral and mental well being of our school-aged children and their families in the community.”

Did you know about a joint agreement between Lakeland Community College and the Wickliffe School District supporting the Family Resource Center?

With LCC’s help Wickliffe received a $250,000 grant from the State of Ohio for capital improvements!

We asked the legal counsel for Lakeland Community College what is the benefit to the college.  Here is his response:

“The Wickliffe City School District (WCSD) applied for community-based capital funds that are attached to higher education capital funding. These are competitive bids that are awarded every two years. There is a specific pool of funds set aside for these programs, with many other examples available on ODHE website https://www.ohiohighered.org/board-of-regents/chancellor/proposed-actions/directives.  In order to qualify to use this pool of funds, a higher education institution must benefit from the use of the capital funds, hence the joint use agreement.  WCSD repurposed an old welding lab and made it into a community learning center.

Lakeland is able to use that center to do tutoring, recruitment, CCP activities [College Credit Plus Program] and other items as outlined in the joint use agreement. The financial gain for Lakeland is being able to use the space as needed without being charged. The benefit to both WCSD and Lakeland is that the State provided the capital funds to renovate the space.”

Please take a look at the agreement between Lakeland and the Wicklffie Schools.  The services to be provided in this new space greatly expands the schools services outside of basic education.  The on-going, additional tax burden on the Wickliffe taxpayers may be significant.

When we consider the new Social, Emotional,  Learning curriculum being thrust upon our children in schools, and Wickliffe’s Family Resource Center, we believe we can safely say that we are way past the 3 R’s of “Reading, Riting, and Rithmetic”, and are abdicating the family responsibilities to the government schools.

It is our opinion, that this will easily lead to manipulation of thoughts, values and morality of the State as opposed to the  will and teachings of the family.
